Tulasi Jordan

Tulasi Jordan, LCSW, BCD, SEP has been trained in a variety of modalities that allow her to utilize unique and individualized approaches to healing. She has the foundation of more traditional psychotherapy, and through additional training and experience is able to offer clients more contemporary interventions as well.

Tulasi received her master’s degree, with honors, from New York University, holds a post-master’s certificate from the Women’s Therapy Centre Institute (WTCI) for treating eating and body image problems, is a Somatic Experiencing Practitioner, a certified IFS (Internal Family Systems) therapist and consultant, and is a certified EMDR therapist. She has additional training in Integrated Somatic Psychotherapy, mindfulness and clinical hypnosis, She taught continuing education workshops for therapists at WTCI for five years, and has developed and taught trainings for therapists at the Institute for Contemporary Psychotherapy (through CSAB) in NYC. Currently a program assistant for the IFS Institute, she has also been a teaching assistant for the Somatic Experiencing 3-year trauma training. For several years she trained with and assisted Anodea Judith, PhD, and was certified through her Sacred Centers program.

A yoga and meditation teacher since 1993, she integrates body-based interventions into treatment. She created and taught yoga and meditation programs at Newton Medical Center for 18 years. She is also a certified Qigong instructor.

Treatment approaches include psychodynamic psychotherapy, IFS, EMDR, mindfulness, Somatic Experiencing, somatic psychotherapy (sometimes referred to as mind-body psychotherapy), as well as skills from Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) when applicable. She has been providing psychotherapy for over 25 years.
